expanded idea of mulitmedia

the "pioneers" time line expanded my idea of multimedia by elaborating on the thought of interaction between the viewer and art work, weather it be a painting, music, theater, cinema, or sculpture. Engaging the viewer by emotion is not an idea i originally had about multimedia. I originally assumed that multimedia was only computer art such as pictures, drawings etc. I was never under the impression that interactivity was all part of the whole picture. Now knowing this, I began to see the complexity of it all and how important it is to engage the viewer and draw some sort of emotion from them weather it be good or bad.

NET ART! what tha hell is it?

NET ART IS ANYTHING SUCH AS DRAWINGS, CLIPPINGS, PHOTOGRAPHS, AND ANY IMAGE ACQUIRED BY ANY MEDIA SUCH AS MAGAZINES, BOOKS, COMPUTER GRAPHICS, SKETCHES OBTAINED AND LOCATED ON ANY COMPUTER COMPILED TOGETHER TO MAKE PICTURES OR INTERACTIVE PIECES. THIS IS MY UNDERSTANDING.

i believe that netart is art. art is not only something to look at, it has to move you mentally or physically, good or bad. you should have some reaction to it or interact in some way to a piece of artwork. netart can certainy do that.

THE PIECE OF NETART THAT I EXPLORED WAS THAT OF KEN PERLIN. I LOVE HIS IDEA OF SIMPLICITY ON THIS INTERACTIVITY PIECE. HIS COLORFUL PICTURES OF TENTACLE RIPPLES INVOKES A CALMING TYPE OF EMOTION FOR ME. I REALLY FIND THE SMOOTH TRANSITION OF VIBRANT COLORS ARE WHIMSICAL AND ALLURING. THE ANIMATION AT THE END TIES IN ALL OF THE PICTURES AND ALLOWS YOU TO ENTER INTO AND BE RESPONSIVE WITH THE NETART
